And now I began building the quietest 3" exhaust out there.<br />

For fun, I will be hitting the dyno often this summer, starting right after I get the first section on, to see if I loose any real power after adding another muffler.</div>
<div>
Also to document another 2.5" 's 3" dyno comparison.</div>

<br />
There are still some fitment issues even on a 5th gen.<br />
<br />
I will address them in detail as I fix the problems one by one.<br />
<br />
For now, some pictures cause I need to upload em to post em on forums....<br />

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AREaPVUCTgs/U__4eoyoyYI/AAAAAAAADMs/4MLOIbYi2B0/s1600/20140802_205436.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AREaPVUCTgs/U__4eoyoyYI/AAAAAAAADMs/4MLOIbYi2B0/s1600/20140802_205436.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
238/207 on the same Dynojet I do all of my Dynojetting on.<br />
<br />
Yes I somehow made less torque than the red car.<br />
<br />
This is due the fact that the stock ECU is not a fan of the cams in the 07+ Altima v6 motor.<br />
<br />
If you plan on swapping this motor into an older ECU VQ35, have either a way to tune the cam timing or throw some rod bolts in and rev it higher (at least 7200).<br />
<br />
I am not sure if this is because of the Maxima intake manifold or not, but until I see more dynos of this setup I will say it is because of the more aggressive cams (which you will see soon when I post the dyno sheet).<br />
<br />
There is one saving grace, this car would probably dyno around 250whp (which was my goal) if the operator revved it to 6600 which I've pegged many times on logs, the dyno operator only ran a hair above 6k (not sure why he stopped early).<br />
<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PHJcvoYGmD8/U8XeRfCOEgI/AAAAAAAAClY/lltx5gDLheQ/s1600/20140712_110203.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PHJcvoYGmD8/U8XeRfCOEgI/AAAAAAAAClY/lltx5gDLheQ/s1600/20140712_110203.jpg" height="225" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I heard about this happening before but I'm an experienced based person, unless undeniable evidence is provided for me, I take what the internet says with a grain of salt.<br />
<br />
With that, I learned the hard way that the great value of eBay parts have to be paid somehow, in this case extra labor.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Anywho, one long weekend, came to an end finally, good news is I no longer have to use JB Weld my crank sensor in place due to the RWD trigger plate, just good ol fashion stock looking-ness.<br />
<br />
<h3 style="text-align: left;">
XTD vs. Fidanza Performance</h3>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well after driving around for a bit, it is quite noticeable that the XTD is a lighter flywheel, and against what people say it's more noticeable in high gear at low rpms acceleration and neutral revving. When holding both flywheels together the XTD is a little bit lighter, but I did not expect to feel an actual noticeable performance change. In this category is XTD is better overall.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
In the end, the XTD flywheel was a fun venture, I purchased it lightly used for about $120 so I do not have too many complaints or gripes about the time, money and effort spent on it, I got to write this post and back up what the internet forums are saying about this product.</div>

<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Plan of Attack: </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you recall my earlier dyno... You can see that the power curve is extremely un-vqlike. Even for a unique setup like mine, so what's the fix here? Well I'm going to get the car running 100% and re-dyno and then plan from there. To do that I have to adjust the VTC plates, I have checked in osiris and I got lucky after a few days of playing with them, Bank 2 is just slightly retarded my .5 degree while bank 1 is at 0 degrees (perfect!). But if you're familiar with any 3.5 you can see that my cam timing on bank two is.... not right. I have been throwing a random code for the cam sensor on that bank so I am going back to the drawing board and re-wiring everything to ensure it's not anything shorting out (which is what I think it is). </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So as I can post a better looking data log, I will move on to the fun stuff.....</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Battle Weapons:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
OBX Headers, 2.5" Test pipe, stock mid pipe and a G35 Sedan Muffler.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Unfortunately the decision to arrive on this setup came after a few weeks of pondering. I would love nothing more to have a 3" exhaust but I do happen to live in the real world and I ball on a budget.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The idea is based on some rumors and a few youtube videos. I am hoping the G35 sedan muffler would not have the same result as using my stock muffler and unleash the bees in a can raspyness. Results again are soon to be found out later on in the summer.</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Up on deck:</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Rewiring, data logging, re-dyno. </div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
See ya guys later!</div>

<br />
Part of the reason why I was not able to complete the work for the track day was that I lost about 20hrs fooling with this....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WOCBTADxA_s/U0DlLEpH6mI/AAAAAAAAAvM/bQSjL0v89Is/s1600/CAM00043.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WOCBTADxA_s/U0DlLEpH6mI/AAAAAAAAAvM/bQSjL0v89Is/s1600/CAM00043.jpg" height="400" width="225" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Yup, a bit of rust can go a long way when it comes to removing parts from coilovers.<br />
<br />
Took quite some time and work to get it off as detailed in the videos below:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.youtube.com/embed/8JWOlnuxON0?feature=player_embedded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After I broke it loose a bit I moved forward without the hammer and used leverage to turn the coilover instead of impact force as detailed below:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<object class="BLOGGER-youtube-video" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" data-thumbnail-src="https://i1.ytimg.com/s_vi/NY2Uki3ULTA/default.jpg?sqp=CPi5g5oF&rs=AOn4CLA43_UKDw9PQ-rbGIGdV6pBKpa3Zg" height="266" width="320"><param name="movie" value="https://www.youtube.com/v/NY2Uki3ULTA?version=3&f=user_uploads&c=google-webdrive-0&app=youtube_gdata" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#FFFFFF" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed width="320" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/v/NY2Uki3ULTA?version=3&f=user_uploads&c=google-webdrive-0&app=youtube_gdata" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></div>

</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Don't worry there is sunlight at the end of the tunnel, I used one of my struts from my 4th gen for the time being (using the 5th gen lower mount) and I ordered replacement collars (WHICH TOOK FOREVER TO ARRIVE) to replace the ones I chewed up during this process.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anywho, the videos should have covered everything you would need to know, and as usual if you have any questions just drop a comment!</div>

SighI failed to get the car ready in time for MSR, it was just too many problems...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-udXX8x8LeGY/UzhB-p3MwsI/AAAAAAAAAsQ/kX5TbfWuqcg/s1600/20140328_115103.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-udXX8x8LeGY/UzhB-p3MwsI/AAAAAAAAAsQ/kX5TbfWuqcg/s1600/20140328_115103.jpg" height="200" width="112" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: right;">
On top of trying to finish all of the modding, it was just a bit much for 24hrs....</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
On the other note, I have finished a lot of things I've always wanted to, yet I still have more to go!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NK6SIkjviVE/Uzg-iDv96uI/AAAAAAAAAr4/VjGObUyHeBY/s1600/Coilovers.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-NK6SIkjviVE/Uzg-iDv96uI/AAAAAAAAAr4/VjGObUyHeBY/s1600/Coilovers.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;">(Excuse the dirtiness)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: xx-small;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
But in the end, I definitely enjoy the experience of a 5.5 gen on coilovers, which is oddly.... Different from a 4th gen. For the millionth time this week working on this car I have to say.... "This ain't no 4th gen." The chassis of this car is noticeably stiffer than the A32 but also noticeably heavier, but with the rigidity of this chassis, it does not feel as big as a difference as it seems on paper.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Also on another note, I have scrapped the "IPL" ideas, I now want to go a 100% stealth modding approach on this vehicle, while reading this blog you'd think, "wtf?" But in reality, no one knows what the hell this car is stock to even compare with, so I can fool literally everyone that right now as it sits... That the car is 100% stock.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I'm going fully committed to this route, buying an OEM Infiniti Sport "S" (To keep things subtle) and the JX35 engine cover (Ugly, but it's not expensive, it's worth a shot).</div>

<br />
G35 brake caliper upgrade.<br />
BC racing coilover install<br />
Replacing the many stripped\crossthreaded lugs<br />
Obx header install<br />
<br />
I have successfully installed the following though....<br />
<br />
Energy suspension control arm bushings<br />
Moog ball joints<br />
Moog end links<br />
10k / 8k spring upgrades on the coilovers<br />
<br />
Seems like a small list but I have been wasting time on a rusted coilover mount which I should have worked on ahead of time.... But I purchased them from what I thought was a salt free environment and under proper care but i was wrong.<br />
<br />
Anywho y'all are like kids and only look at the pictures anyways so here....<br />

<br />
I have posted about this mod before as seen <u><a href="http://forums.maxima.org/advanced-suspension-chassis-braking/644670-how-350z-g35-dual-piston-brakes.html" target="_blank">here</a></u> and moved the How-To to this blog to be updated. But i have never put it to the test up until now.<br />
<br />
Just like the other informative post, i will update this as i go along.<br />
<br />
So for now just a teaser shot of what i received in the mail today.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9glynzVlZxw/Uw7u3WmG64I/AAAAAAAAAnk/ymjHh2L4yYY/s1600/CAM00005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9glynzVlZxw/Uw7u3WmG64I/AAAAAAAAAnk/ymjHh2L4yYY/s1600/CAM00005.jpg" height="360" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Used Dual Piston Rotors from a 2007 350z<br />
Duralast c-max ceramic pads.<br />
Duralast rotors (for a g35 but autozone and nissan all agree that the 12.6 inch rotor is the same across the whole board)<br />
<br />
To be continued with lulz. Stay tuned.<br />
<br />
3/26 update: The before data has been collected.<br />
<br />
3/30 update: The brakes are on!! More grinding of the brackets are needed, but man is it nice having new brakes!! I haven't started doing nose diving braking yet but once I have 0 noises coming from the brakes I'll give them a real testAackshunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12104564726969445654noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659210373266021955.post-87571962687365640892014-02-27T20:28:00.001-08:002014-02-27T20:44:25.801-08:00How To: Upgrading to G35/350z Dual Piston Brakes and 12.6" Rotors<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This will work easily for 89-08 Maximas. Not sure on any other years, I will find out on other years some other time. This is a work in progress, should be finalized soon.<br />

http://forums.maxima.org/4th-generation-maxima-1995-1999/568098-how-5-5-gen-front-brakes-4th-gen.html<br />
<br />
Then goto step 2.<br />
<br />
<b><u><span style="font-size: large;">Needed Equipment:</span></u></b><br />
-05-06 350z / 05-06 G35 Sedan Dual Piston Brake Caliper, Bracket and Rotor (Rotor NOT needed on a 04-08 Maxima).<br />
-02-08? Maxima Caliper Bolts<br />
-Brake Fluid.<br />
-Aviation Snips (Some type of sheers for cutting metal).<br />
<br />
I'm not going to hold your hand through this one, just make it to the point where your car is safely on jack stands and you're looking at this....<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k6FNfNw8u30/UxAKGbTuudI/AAAAAAAAAn8/2A7VoXDLn-c/s1600/405828_2571586058851_428986597_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k6FNfNw8u30/UxAKGbTuudI/AAAAAAAAAn8/2A7VoXDLn-c/s1600/405828_2571586058851_428986597_n.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<i><span style="font-size: x-small;">(02-03 Brakes on a 4th gen 99 Maxima)</span></i></div>
<br />
<b><u>Step 1: Remove the unnecessary components. (If you're a 89-01 skip to step 2)</u></b><br />
<br />
-Disconnect your brake line<br />
<br />
-Caliper<br />
<br />
-Bracket<br />
<br />
-Rotor (6th genners keep this on!!)<br />
<br />
Keep track of your two caliper bracket to spindle bolts, YOU WILL NEED THIS! You can NOT use the bolts off of the G/Z they are tooooo long. If you're swapping from a stock 4th gen setup, I suggest ordering these from Nissan. If not then goto your local hardware store and purchase replacement bolts (Will update with the correct size).<br />
<br />
<br />
<b><u>Step 2: Install Dual Piston Glory</u></b><br />
<br />
<b><span style="color: red;">-There has been confirmed fitment issues, I am working on a easy sure fire way around this. It looks like grinding down the calipers are needed to clear the rotors because of the bracket not moving it out far enough from the center of the hub. I will get around to putting this on a running car to see what is needed to get these on a Maxima, I really think not much is grinding is needed.</span></b><br />
<br />
-Install rotor<br />
This is where you need your handy dandy shears for 4th/5th gens... Start snippin away at what comes close to contact with the rotor or control arm (have both wheels in the air and the steering wheel unlocked so you can check the clearance while turning the wheels). I have yet to fully test on a 6th gen spindle and their dust shield, I will on Monday. 6th gens and L31 Altimas shouldn't need to modify their dust shield because they accommodate larger 12.6" rotors already.<br />
<br />
-Install bracket<br />
You may still need to continue to hack away at your dust shield. During this step it'd be wise to give the disc a good ol whirl around to check for any rubbing.<br />
<br />
-Install Brake Pads<br />
<br />
-Install the Dual Piston Caliper<br />
<br />
-Re-install your brake lines<br />
<br />
Make sure to check the rotation of the disc again. And you have to use the bolts for the 02-08 Maxima. The 3rd/4th Gen bolts will NOT work and the 350z/G35 bolts will NOT work.<br />
<br />
After your done it should look like this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fmTtfvjc6Q0/UxAJ4_A84LI/AAAAAAAAAn4/MrO9ey77FJ4/s1600/417644_2571592459011_808882280_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fmTtfvjc6Q0/UxAJ4_A84LI/AAAAAAAAAn4/MrO9ey77FJ4/s1600/417644_2571592459011_808882280_n.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Then proceed to step 3.<br />
<br />
<b><u>Step 3: Prepare for WAR!</u></b><br />
<br />
-Bleed brakes<br />
<br />
-Bed in pads (you should be using new pads and rotors :squint:)<br />
<br />
-Troll Q45/Z32 front brake owners :cool:<br />
<br />
<b><u>Quick Facts:</u></b><br />
-350z/G35 brembo's will go on following the same procedure it takes to install them on non brembo 350z/g35s (Just replace the bracket/caliper/rotor!). If you're a real baller you can get the Akibono (spelling?) Brakes and relocation kit for the 350z and do the same thing..... Remember, this is a game for ballers and only ballers can participate.<br />
<br />
-I have yet to test this mod on the street!<br />
<br />
-The dual piston pads use more sweeping area than the 300zx pads.<br />
<br />
-It BARELY! Clears AE wheels on my 4th gen if you're running the stock wheels I suggest getting a 5mm<br />
spacer for safety sake.<br />
<br />
<b>-Rotor Comparison:</b><br />

<b>Why So Low #'s Batman?</b><br />
This was done on a Mustang dyno, need I say any more?<br />
<br />
<b>Sounds Like You're Butthurt...</b><br />
No not really.... 03-06 Z's put down 218 and 220 whp before me, hell a bolt on and tuned 3-valve mustang did 250, I'm very happy with the #'s compared against the rest of the dynos that day.<br />
<br />
<b>Immediate Future Mods:</b><br />
Based on the dynos and street pulls I definitely need to wire up the primary (or secondary depending on how you look at it) VIAS assembly on the intake manifold, this dyno curve was extremely un-VQ like in every way imaginable.<br />
<br />
<b>EDIT:</b><br />
After further discussion, I either need to gain the ability to tune the VTC's OR set the signal plates back a few degrees as required by swapping in a 2nd generation 3.5 and using the stock ECU. It could explain the total lack of low end, the cams are too advanced by the stock ECU.<br />
<br />
Why?<br />
-No usable low end tq<br />
-a narrow power-band<br />
<br />
But what i was feeling on the but dyno was very accurate, this car has some screaming top end, just the whole shabang of getting to it is not where it should be, after getting the other VIAS to work and a tune (Either fix my UTEC... ew..... or do an 04 Maxima ECU swap + Osiris tune).Aackshunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12104564726969445654noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659210373266021955.post-33583286632830403762013-11-10T23:21:00.002-08:002013-11-10T23:21:52.399-08:00Moving along...<h2 style="text-align: center;">

<br />
Ok the clutch is broken in, more little issues arise here and there from this being a complete project.<br />
<br />
Oil leaks, belt squeals, etc, and my favorite thus far... Aligning the crankshaft position sensor (I'm using a RWD flywheel, cost less and they make lighter ones for the 350z/G35s).<br />
<br />
Anyways, like I always advocate... Maintain your vehicle by modding it....<br />

This is the 2J-Racing underdriv+lightweight pulley, and possibly the best pulley I've ever installed on any vehicle. Unlike what the forums usually say, you'll be hard to ignore the difference in performance on this one. This is money better spent than buying an intake.<br />
<br />
Anyways, that's it for now, I still have a bunch of little things to tackle to finish the 6MT I35, just a minor update for now.<br />
<br />
I will be going to the track soon, details will be posted here, so stay tuned...Aackshunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12104564726969445654noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659210373266021955.post-12768294212157394992013-09-28T13:03:00.001-07:002013-09-28T13:10:01.598-07:00200 Miles in...<h2>

I love this car, I really don't think there's a reason to do anything else after tackling the little swap issues that are coming up left and right (EG. My auto seat position doesn't want to function). But besides that drive-ability is fine (fixed the stalling out issue, vacuum leak, go figs!), mpg so far is 25 in the city (4-5mpg increase) and in the 30s on the highway (same increase), performance... Well.... ^_^<br />

<h3>
The Break-In Setup</h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z67Kaa8jhxY/UkcxNyhWDOI/AAAAAAAAAlE/hIn1tDuO-1Q/s1600/DSCN0370.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-z67Kaa8jhxY/UkcxNyhWDOI/AAAAAAAAAlE/hIn1tDuO-1Q/s400/DSCN0370.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<b><u>Power:</u></b><br />
08 Altima V6 Motor (Somewhere under 10k miles)<br />
04 Sentra Spec-V Transmission + 02 Maxima Bellhousing swap<br />
95-99 Maxima Exhaust Manifolds<br />
95-99 Maxima Stillen Y-Pipe<br />
Stock Cat (Under the car)<br />
Stock Catback<br />
$25 Intake setup<br />
-$5 3.5" to 3" reducer hose + 2 hose clamps (Thanks to Steve @ The Hose Pimp!)<br />
-$20 Some giant air filter I bought awhile back because it was stupid cheap and hell, big air filters just look cool....<br />
<br />
<b><u>Handling:</u></b><br />
All stock plus my infamous front sway bar delete (I need new end links, didn't feel like connecting the old bad ones).<br />
350z Track V1 18x8.5 wheels up front w/ 255/40 Conti-Pros (1st gear hooks now! I was riding on sawblades all the way around for the first 100 miles, and first gear got traction thanks to my LSD but I couldn't keep the car straight)<br />
4th-gen Maxima Saw-Blades in the rear<br />
<br />
<h3>
Thoughts on the swap so far...</h3>
Based on my 3rd gear pulls, it seems that this car is a top end whore, 6500rpms are not enough for this setup as it appears, which is quite intriguing because only one of my VIAS's (Passenger side, the more important side based on trials w/ this motor in it's native vehicle) are working at the moment.<br />
<br />
I also have a very boring low end, but I think this is mainly due to my <i>awesome</i> intake setup, one day when I am out of small swap issues to tackle I shall make a more proper intake for this car.<br />
<br />
One big plus though is how quiet this car is, I think that's the main reason why I'm in love with it so much, I was expecting rasp w/ the stock cat and catback but it's handling it very well, only allowing a slight grumble to get though w/ no bees in a can sound (What you usually get when you start to make things flow better under the hood, but not out the muffler).<br />
<br />
Really the loudest thing is the pop or two (I've witnessed black smoke while revving in neutral before) I get after each shift, I do wonder why it's happening because it was under my assumption that these motor swaps ran lean.... Something to ponder later. I can be a real judge of it when I actually make an exhaust for this car one day.<br />
<br />
Another update when the interior resembles something of normalcy.<br />

I have a bit of tidying up to do inside and outside of the car, but the first 6MT I35 is a runner!<br />

<h2>
The Journey of the first documented 6MT I35....</h2>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/923114_10201183184841977_1036402810_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="187" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/923114_10201183184841977_1036402810_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(From left to right: JNCORacer's I30, Carlos's Maxima, my BD and Max_Dreamer's Maxima)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Well, I've always beat to my own drum when it comes to things, and when I play with cars, I'm out there to impress myself, I always set out with the intention of making myself go "Damn, that's nice."<br />
<br />
Ever since I was 17 after owning my first Maxima I had set in my head of what I wanted to accomplish in the world of sleeper sedans (What is a Sleeper? <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeper_(car)">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeper_(car)</a>).<br />
<br />
One of my goals was to have a 6speed Manual Infiniti I35. I find it the perfect balance of luxury and sport, definitely to give a lot of early 2000 BMW/Lexus/Acura owners something to be upset about. For those of you who do not know, the I35 did NOT come in manual, only with the 4 speed automatic (Sluggish, yet reliable transmission, more for comfort and cruising, not fun), so I will have to complete yet another 6-speed swap but this around it seems easier.<br />
<br />
<h3>
Enough talk, here is the strategy for this one; The I35 S</h3>
<div>
My idea for this project was on a simple platform, I wanted to keep things stock, meaning I wanted to modify this car in a way so it will perform better in any way possible, but not loose any comfort of driving a stock vehicle (No loud exhaust or lowering the vehicle considerably on aftermarket wheels). At first I had the idea of doing the "Sport" package, which is popular for a lot of Infiniti's these days.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/dsc_0117_450.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2007/05/dsc_0117_450.jpg" height="212" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
But I felt like the "S" idea was not a big enough departure from the norm, I felt like just calling it the I35-S was shortchanging the work I planned on putting into the car. I also played with the notion of going the "JDM" route, by calling the car it's original Japanese Domestic Market name the "Cefiro"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9f/Nissan-Cefiro-a33_1998-rear.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9f/Nissan-Cefiro-a33_1998-rear.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then I decided this was too radical, rebaging a car and sticking a few "Nismo" (Nissan Motorsport) stickers on it didn't jive with me well, I felt that was just too much and trying "too hard"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then one day it hit me, why not the IPL? IPL G's are rare and overpriced, but still they set themselves apart from the other G's without really standing out at the same time....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="http://www.netcarshow.com/Infiniti-G37_Coupe-2009-wallpaper.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://www.netcarshow.com/Infiniti-G37_Coupe-2009-wallpaper.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://autoweek.com/storyimage/CW/20100814/PEBBLE/100819909/AR/0/Infiniti-IPL-G37.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://autoweek.com/storyimage/CW/20100814/PEBBLE/100819909/AR/0/Infiniti-IPL-G37.jpg" height="192" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
(A regular G37 on top, with the IPL model below)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: left;">
That was it! The IPL! The perfect balance of setting this I35 apart from the other's without trying too hard!!</div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/181408_10201183185762000_312432400_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="239" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/181408_10201183185762000_312432400_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/263393_10201183185321989_646817904_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="215" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/263393_10201183185321989_646817904_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: center;">Till then I realized... No way would Infiniti do such a thing, if am going to stay true to the wolf in sheeps clothing ideal, I rather just undercut this car as much as possible, leaving no one with a warning of what they are about to encounter until it's too late.... So after some deep thought, I decided to only stick with the Sport Model I35 aka the I35S</span><br />
<span style="text-align: center;"><br /></span>
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
This started as a nicely modded 96 SE that was my daily to get me to work and back, as time went on and things broke, I decided to replace the part with a decent mod instead of the same thing, eg when I replaced the motor I did a DEK swap. I didn't get to fully enjoy the DEK swap because a friend came up with the right price and I sold it immediately. There are bigger things coming from this car in the future, stay tuned to hear more about this one.</div>

<br />
<br />
This post is a little late, but I've installed the infamous OBX 3.5 Headers on my car.<br />
<br />
I do not have that many pictures, but here is a quick overview of the installation process, I will not go into gross detail, because the swap happened awhile ago.<br />
<br />
Here is a quick overview on how to install/remove any type of header/manifold from most Maximas (95-03 for sure, 04+ guys this gives you an idea).<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Installation (Sort of in order)</span></b></div>
-Put the front end of the car on stands<br />
-Remove Upper Intake Manifold<br />
-Remove 02 Sensors<br />
-Drop the Y-pipe<br />
-Work on the front collector (6 bolts)<br />
-Begin to unbolt the rear manifold (if you're really pro you can do all 6 bolts)<br />
-Get the jack and support the engine/tranny<br />
-Drop the crossmember<br />
-Remove the rear mount thingy (4 bolts on the motor, it's what the rear mount attaches to)<br />
-Drop the rear header<br />
-Install OBX headers<br />
-Delete EGR<br />
Reverse process, starting w/ the rear mount thingy.<br />
<br />
Video on Removing the Rear Manifold:<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/148695_1494062481435_4968808_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/148695_1494062481435_4968808_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><b>Problems/Things to know...</b></span></div>
-There will be an EGR delete during this process, I'm still working a way around this so I won't have a CEL<br />
-Two M18x1.5 bolts will be required (unless you're running a wideband and want to plug it into the headers) to block off the extra O2 ports.<br />
-You can not put the rear o2 sensor on the rear collector, the steering rack is in the way, I used one on the front bank and one near the oil pan, use the screws on the rear collecter and the other o2 port near the oil pan.<br />
-I had to extend the O2 sensor wires for it to reach the location pictured below.<br />
-Get OEM nissan gaskets, atleast the O shaped one, people suggest re-using the old header gasket on your car, they say it's a superior design, I am using the OBX manifold gaskets and so far no problems, but if you really want to go the extra mile, order some new nissan manifold gaskets and O gaskets (remember you're still saving hundreds of dollars compared to cattman, so put that money to good use).<br />
-The flexpipe on these headers aren't the world's toughest thing, sure you can install it out the box, but later down the line it will fail (Me from being lowered, bottoming out a lot), and I hear about other failures occuring because of how thin the inside wall is, so expect to replace the flexpipe on these a year or two down the road, the last two videos below will give a good inside + outside sound of a leaking flexpipe.<br />
-You SHOULD grind off the lip of the crossmember, it's not necessary, but it prolonges the life of your flexpipe and kills down on cabin rattles.<br />
-You SHOULD fabricate your own exhaust hanger after the flexpipe because the OBX's have none. Again, not necessary, but a good idea.<br />
<br />
Onto the media/fun stuff....<br />
<br />
Below are my collection of photos featuring the OBX 02-03 Headers and some comparison shots and what not....<br />

<br />
So I have nearly completed my Exhaust setup, with this being the focal piece of it, a 3" catback...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs451.ash2/72449_1454015240279_1530240071_30962639_7025818_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs451.ash2/72449_1454015240279_1530240071_30962639_7025818_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />
The Cattman 3" Catback system for the 4th gen (1995-1999) Nissan Maxima with an extra bung for a wideband sensor, this ran me right around $810 shipped to my front door.<br />

</b></div><div style="text-align: left;">The installation is relatively simple, my only reccomendation here is to install the O2 sensors last, because of the location of it when you bolt up your main catylitic converter gets in the way of a ratchet, also make sure you set the car up on stands fairly high, this is a 3" exhausst sytem and getting the rear section over the axle with a low clearance can be tricky.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">If you haven't already, buy one of these to replace the gasket from Cat->Catback, the part number is in the picture, either local, courtesy, or Dave B. from southpoint nissan, shop around. Do NOT use the walker gaskets, only OEM, my walker gaskets lasted only 2 days, on the 3rd I had an exhaust leak from them.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: left;">You'll need new sets of these if you haven't replaced them. These are exhaust hangers, you'll need 3 for the muffler and 1 for the midsection. People say use the <a href="http://forums.maxima.org/7808401-post315.html">nismo</a> hangers, but others have said that the walker's are just as good (NOT FOR GASKETS THOUGH! The gaskets SUCK!) and they seem to be holding fine!</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">As soon as I hit the 51st mile... The catback is whisper quiet @ 3k though which is awesome for those highway cruisers (like myself).</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="-webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px;"><br />

Sometime in the future... See note below... I'm pretty excited and scared @ the same time because this mod features a "POINT OF NO RETURN" so if I mess up I could be stuck w/o a car for awhile.... Anyways, I've come to terms with that and now I have to just focus my time and energy on reassembling the transmission correctly and make sure this goes as smoooove as possible.<br />
<div><br />
</div><div>Anyways, here's a quick price list of my swap...</div><div><br />
</div><div>Swapping a 6spd HLSD Transmission from a 2003 Sentra SE-R Spec V into a 1999 Maxima SE-L....</div><div><br />
</div><div>Parts that I've brought for this project</div><div><div>$105 Maxima Bellhousing and a Final Diff</div><div>$300 Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel</div><div>$43 '03 Maxima Pressure Plate (Brand new)</div><div>$86 New Clutch Disc (G35/350z 6mt clutch disc)</div><div>$42 6spd Cable Shifter</div><div>$213.15 Spec-V Transmission</div><div>$17 Clutch Fork/TOB+Bolts+Slave Cylinder</div><div>$142 6spd Mount, 04 Maxima oem shift knob and bolts.</div><div>$37 Starter from an '03 Altima</div><div>$40 Custom Timing Ring, Sentra shifter cables, flywheel bolts</div></div><div><br />
</div><div>Side Project: Poly Urethane Suspension Update</div><div>While the car is in pieces why not take advantage of this and update the suspension? Plus my bushings are blown so my car is literally ALL OVER the road whenever I get on that gas... and that ain't cool.</div><div>$40.95 ES LCA Bushings </div><div>$17 ES Anti-Sway Bar Bushings</div><div>$61 Ball Joints<br />
$22 Anti-Sway Bar End Links<br />
<br />
</div><div>Anyways, expect the next post soon as it will be full of pictures and details as I try to attempt a "How-to" on this stuff....<br />
<br />
Random: I also purchased a brand new Diamond Audio D3 12" Sub via ebay for $59, that's my "Good job boy" present to myself... the box and amp will be my victory celebration after the swap.<br />
<br />
[Edit]<br />
6spd is postponed until further notice, ran into some things today and I did not want to continue w/ this project because there is NO going back once I saw off my old transmission/motor mount. So I'm going to wait until everything is purffffect.<br />
<br />
But I did do the side project and man does my car feel AWESOME!!!! I highly recommend anyone who corners hard to make sure they keep the front end of their car properly maintained.</div>Aackshunhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12104564726969445654noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7659210373266021955.post-62937014726397957662010-05-12T14:52:00.000-07:002010-05-12T14:57:31.467-07:006speed Swap How-To Teaser PicsThis summer I will be embarking on a nice fun little project, a 6speed transmission swap.<br />

<br />
So today I helped my friend Chris replace his front bumper. He had gotten into a little fender bender and was tired of the hole there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AZeKlQjyI/AAAAAAAAAGM/vqBiaPRuQSA/s1600-h/DSCN3694.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AZeKlQjyI/AAAAAAAAAGM/vqBiaPRuQSA/s640/DSCN3694.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<br />
So you don't know how to remove the bumper eh? Well here is (what I think) a very detailed writeup, you should be able to teach your mom how to remove a bumper with these directions ^_^.<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i><br />
</i></span><br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;"><i>Side Note: I really HATE those silly black screws w/ the black plastic housing around them that you have to pop out, in my opinion I find them VERY annoying and easy to break, if I had more time and wanted to put more effort into this I would've went to ace hardware and try finding a metal bolt, something that won't easily break or strip. YOU MUST BE CAREFUL NOT TO STRIP OR BREAK THESE, because then the bumper will be stuck on in that location, and the only way to remove it without removing the screw is by breaking the mounting hole on the bumper.</i></span><br />
<br />
1. We'll start from the very first screw under the wheel well (pictured at the bottom)<br />
<br />
2. Then we'll remove the corner/parking lamp by unscrewing the one screw up top and you'll see one screw there.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AZhCad6OI/AAAAAAAAAGU/XktzNY2DCx0/s1600-h/DSCN3696.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AZhCad6OI/AAAAAAAAAGU/XktzNY2DCx0/s320/DSCN3696.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
3. Next the three screws <br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
4. Repeat step 1 and 2 for the opposite side.<br />
<br />
5. Now, this was the least fun of the whole bumper removal... Actually it took the most time... The front turn signal light removal... Ugh.<br />
There is only one screw for each light but I had an extremely hard time getting to it, if you peek your head into the lower grill you'll see a little opening for a phillips head screw driver. These two screws are different from the bumper screws (obviously).<br />
<br />
(View from the opening)<br />

<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
(Close up shot of the screw)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AZwPHOsjI/AAAAAAAAAGs/TC_H3EX4LZE/s1600-h/DSCN3701.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AZwPHOsjI/AAAAAAAAAGs/TC_H3EX4LZE/s320/DSCN3701.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
You have to stick your Phillips in there and unscrew that screw quite a few turns, after that slide the signal light towards the outside of the car then it will come right out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6Ag2C9dO9I/AAAAAAAAAH8/-muDr2vhW2I/s1600-h/DSCN3702.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6Ag2C9dO9I/AAAAAAAAAH8/-muDr2vhW2I/s320/DSCN3702.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
6. After fooling with the bumper lights, you're about halfway there, behind each light there is one screw.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AjoRb4SQI/AAAAAAAAAIE/nLGAdjQGy6E/s1600-h/DSCN3705.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AjoRb4SQI/AAAAAAAAAIE/nLGAdjQGy6E/s320/DSCN3705.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
7. Now it's time to go under the bumper and remove two of these screws...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AjrF5Xw6I/AAAAAAAAAIM/CNUi8za_7Qk/s1600-h/DSCN3707.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AjrF5Xw6I/AAAAAAAAAIM/CNUi8za_7Qk/s320/DSCN3707.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
This is where they are in relative position to the car.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AjvKTE7sI/AAAAAAAAAIU/7meRCVL2L4w/s1600-h/DSCN3709.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AjvKTE7sI/AAAAAAAAAIU/7meRCVL2L4w/s320/DSCN3709.JPG" /></a></div><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
8. This may be optional but I removed these two bolts (and then we didn't put them back on lol).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6Aj4_E-pPI/AAAAAAAAAIk/KR1kdkZbsB4/s1600-h/DSCN3711.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6Aj4_E-pPI/AAAAAAAAAIk/KR1kdkZbsB4/s320/DSCN3711.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />

9. Another possible step.... You may have to remove the headlights if you have screws in these locations, when we removed the bumper there weren't any screws there.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6Ldde_yw_I/AAAAAAAAAJM/q4GMUDLSAdc/s1600-h/Cuy%27z+Bumper+edit+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6Ldde_yw_I/AAAAAAAAAJM/q4GMUDLSAdc/s320/Cuy%27z+Bumper+edit+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6LeSw737eI/AAAAAAAAAJc/QQF5BAXTNXY/s1600-h/Cuy%27z+Bumper+edit+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6LeSw737eI/AAAAAAAAAJc/QQF5BAXTNXY/s320/Cuy%27z+Bumper+edit+2.jpg" /></a></div><span style="font-size: x-small;"><i><br />

<i><span style="color: red;">-Location of screws that we removed. (Not Pictured: Two screws under the front turn signal lights)</span></i><br />
<i><span style="color: blue;">-Location of possible screws that we were somehow missing</span>.</i><br />
<br />
<br />
10. Give it a little tug then... Tada...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AkKEX45pI/AAAAAAAAAIs/SGMURQfA50E/s1600-h/DSCN3715.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_8lpxYZymZVA/S6AkKEX45pI/AAAAAAAAAIs/SGMURQfA50E/s640/DSCN3715.JPG" width="640" /></a></div><br />
<br />
Removing the lower lip is simple, just unscrew everything at the bottom and then it comes off <br />
